CASTLES VISITED

FINALLY STARTING A LONG AWAITED DREAM TRIP!

From the get go Scotland has been a destination I knew I’d love to explore on two wheels one day. Due to plans changing last minute a couple years in a row, I never got to it. Early 2025, I sat myself down, cleared my schedule where possible and made definitive plans for that summer. I knew I had time before working at ABR festival and with a rough sketched itinerary, I just went for it.

Everything I was told about Scotland was most definitely true. It’s raw beauty, the kind people, mouth-watering food and all those tiny and enormous perfect roads. My expectations were surpassed with the breathtaking views I encountered every single day. On this page I give you a more detailed look into my gear and personal highlights, but if you want to see the trip entirely, I recommend watching the YouTube series on my channel.

Main gear I used this trip

It’s probably the most asked question to any motorcycle traveler: what gear do you carry with you? Let me give you a detailed overview of the gear I used and took with me on my Scotland trip. Hey, who knows, it might help you with your own adventures.

  • Clothing

I’ve had numerous items with me, that when needed, I could layer up for bad weather and cold evenings. I firmly agree that there is no such thing as bad weather, only bad clothing. Through the years I’ve used and tried out many different outfits and this trip I chose the following items:

    • Mosko Moto: Rak Pullover jacket, Woodsman enduro pant ITB, Surveyor pant, Surveyor jacket, various jerseys
    • Leatt: ADV 8.5 helmet + Pinlock 120 MaxVision XLT
    • Alpinestars: Tech 7 boots, various gloves and jerseys
  • Luggage

Next to my motorcycle itself of course, luggage is probably the most important part of my travel setup. This well thought out system keeps my gear dry, safe and well protected against all elements, I have been using Mosko Moto’s bags for many years now and highly recommend them for hard travel in every way possible.

    • Backcountry Pannier kit + 5L aux pockets mounted on each pannier
    • 5L aux pockets mounted on my crashbars
    • Wildcat 8L backpack
    • Nomax tank bag
    • Hood tailbag
  • Tech

Without the right technical gear it would be impossible to document my trips the way I do. I carry tons of stuff with me, from a good intercom system keeping my mind sane with some fine tunes on the long stretches, to the right camera gear to assist me with certain shots.

  • Camping

I’ve never actually listed this, so it’s time I do! After many years of suffering during cold nights, I finally invested in better gear and I can tell you, it changes EVERYTHING.

  • Various

Essential items that are basically always with me and on my motorcycle!

Some of my favourite moments

So many objects and moments – big and small – can easily become favorite parts during motorcycle trips. From grand national parks to bizarre shaped lakes. Moody mountain views to picturesque villages covered in sunshine. Friendly inhabitants to like minded tourists.

It’s hard to make it into a small list from a trip this amazing with personal highlights. To see all of it, I strongly recommend watching the YouTube series from this trip.
